Discussion: this about sums up the World Cup for me

If you follow this link you'll find a rather fun and possibly serious comment made on Englands latest performance in the World Cup...

As far as I know, the goalkeeper let in a goal. As far as I can tell that's about a 50-50 chance of what will happen if the goalkeeper happens to have the ball shot at him, and with all the pressure and the noise it's hardly surprising he wasn't 'on the ball' as it were. Anyway, a ridiculous hoohar (that's not a word used nearly enough) followed and replays were everywhere.

But the Independent managed to catch a conspiracy theory which had decided Cameron somehow ordered 'Green' (the goalkeeper) to let the ball in the net in order to placate the US who are still reeling from the oilspill. So, somehow if we won that particular match we would add insult to injury? Among the many many responses to the brilliant and crazy notion, I offer this image from the New York Post:

Does a countrywho can win almost anything apparently, even a draw, really need us to play down to them?
