RIP my gourami fish ._.

On a sadder note the two gouramis we bought died. One yesterday and the other this morning. We think it was a combination of stress and the fact they were ill - about a day after they arrived they were developing lots of white spots on their fins - a disease called White Spot (or Ich). Not sure whether your fish ever caught it at home, but apparently it's fairly common - the fish are more susceptible when they're stressed and gouramis are apparently more sensitive than most. We think they maybe had it before they got here, as our tank and fish were fine and they developed it pretty much immediately - plus the stress of coming into a new tank and the fact they had to be rebagged at the store because the first bag was leaking probably didn't help.

We'd used the anti whitespot medication and procedures as we were advised to do - and hoped that would cure them and the tank... but I guess it was too late - like I said in combination with the stress... We'll keep up the treatment in the tank though, it's meant to continue for another couple of days, and they say if one fish in infected then the whole tank should be treated anyway. None of the other fish are showing symptoms or anything and seem happy enough, so we might have got away with it. I'd rather be on the safe side, though. It's been a sad couple of days anyway.
